? ACTION NEEDED ? Arizona lawmakers are pushing HCR2024 to change execution methods—but the death penalty remains broken beyond repair. Changing the method doesn’t change the outcome. HCR2024 would add to the 2026 ballot in Arizona the option to change the method of execution in Arizona from lethal injection to the firing squad.

I am writing to urge you to vote NO on the bill that would authorize the firing squad as an execution method in Arizona. The idea that this method is a “humane” alternative is deeply misleading—there is no humane way to kill a human being.
