Bring Film Jobs Home to San Diego County

San Diego County has the talent, the locations, and the community—but we’ve been left out of California’s film and television boom for too long. Now, a powerful local coalition has built a plan to change that.

The San Diego County Film & Media Initiative is a proposal to establish a public Film Commission, a professional Film Office, and a new rebate program called SDVibe—all designed to create local jobs, support small businesses, and make it easier to film right here in our region.

This is our moment to act. By signing this petition, you’re calling on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to formally adopt the plan and invest in our creative economy.

Sign today and help bring opportunity, visibility, and production power back to San Diego County—where it belongs.

Dear Supervisors,

As a resident and supporter of San Diego County, I urge you to adopt the proposed San Diego County Film & Media Initiative—a forward-thinking plan to bring film, television, and media production back home to our region.

This initiative will:
• Create local jobs for San Diegans
• Support small businesses and vendors
• Provide training and pathways into the creative industries
• Attract new economic investment through the SDVibe Rebate Program
• Promote San Diego County as a premier production destination through “Filmed in San Diego”

We’ve waited too long for others to bring opportunity here. Now, a coalition of local workers, unions, business owners, and cities have built a plan that reflects our values, meets our needs, and positions us for long-term growth. It’s time for San Diego County to take the lead.

Please vote to support the full implementation of the Film & Media Initiative, including the establishment of the Film Commission, Film Office, and SDVibe program.
