SFU Compass dining workers deserve a REAL Living Wage NOW!

SFU Board of Governors

In July 2022, SFU committed to become a living wage employer – not just for direct employees, but also for contracted food service workers. Nearly three years later, this promise has remained unfulfilled for employees of Compass Group, who work in SFU's dining halls and other food service locations.

These workers, who are primarily racialized immigrant women, are struggling to make ends meet. LivingWage BC lists $27.05 as the minimum living wage for Metro Vancouver, while SFU Compass dining workers make only $22.60.

As we negotiate a new contract, we need students and faculty to help end the double standard for our members who have worked so hard to feed SFU's campus.

Add your name to pressure SFU and Compass Group to fairly compensate these essential members of the SFU community!

SFU's 2022 pledge to become a living wage employer is STILL unfulfilled!

Compass dining workers make nearly $5 LESS than the living wage for Metro Vancouver, as listed by LivingWage BC.

SFU must require Compass Group to accept the workers' demands for a REAL living wage!
