Sign the petition: End the labor abuses of Amazon workers

Jeff Bezos

Millions of Americans now rely on the comfort and convenience of Amazon Prime. But there’s a real hidden cost to the efficiency of our packages arriving almost instantly: the health and safety of Amazon workers.

Working conditions in Amazon warehouses are gruesome. Amazon “pickers” pick products off the shelves, pack them, scan them with handheld scanners, and send them out for delivery. Many fulfillment centers demand pickers pick up 400 items per hour, or one item every nine seconds or face repercussions.

In some Amazon warehouses, workers have been urinating in trash cans to meet impossible performance quotas. During peak seasons, they are scheduled for 60-hour work weeks and many are injured on the job, or shortly after, due to exhaustion.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has become the richest man in the world by exploiting over 500,000 workers globally. Since their founding in 1994, Amazon has successfully suppressed workers’ attempts to unionize. As Bezos continues to expand his monopoly, it will only lead to more workers’ abuses and major setbacks to labor protections.

We must unite now and let Bezos know we refuse to let his workers’ abuses and labor rights attacks continue.

Sign the petition if you agree: Amazon must end its abuse on workers.

Here’s the good news: We are seeing a groundswell of organizing happening across states for workers’ rights and against Amazon’s expansion. Because of community rallies, outreach, and calls against Amazon’s second headquarters, New York was able to successfully break up with Amazon on Valentine's day.

Bezos is feeling the heat from community members to do what is right. With this win in New York, the time is now to demand Amazon end all workers’ abuses and labor rights violations. Together we can send a strong message to Bezos that we refuse to support Amazon until he can guarantee an end to all workers’ abuses.

Under your leadership, Amazon has exploited and abused workers for far too long. We refuse to support Amazon until you can guarantee an end to all workers’ abuses.
