Donald Trump will stop at nothing to keep his tax returns hidden from the American people. He’s already challenged a subpoena from a congressional committee seeking his tax returns. His Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has ordered the IRS to not comply with a congressional request for Trump’s tax returns that the IRS has no legal right to refuse. And Trump has sued to block a law in New York state requiring him to turn over his state tax returns if requested by a congressional committee.

Now, the District Attorney of Manhattan has subpoenaed the last eight years of Trump’s personal and business tax returns in an investigation into hush money payments made to Trump’s (alleged) former mistresses Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.
