SIGN NOW: Trump and Zeldin can't ignore climate endangerment finding

Donald Trump and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin

Donald Trump and his Every Polluters Agency are aiming to undo the EPA’s bedrock recognition that climate change is real, happening now, and a threat to Americans - it’s called the endangerment finding.

Trump and his EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin are calling it “the holy grail of the climate change religion.” But the endangerment finding really is at the heart of the United States’ action on climate change: carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare, and thus are pollutants to be regulated under the Clean Air Act of 1970.

If you’ve been a climate hawk for a while, you may remember the 2007 landmark case Massachusetts vs. EPA, where the Supreme Court (back when it was sane) held that the EPA did have the authority to regulate greenhouse gases. Shortly after his election President Barack Obama ordered the EPA to exercise its authority and take action.

But Trump and Zeldin can't just wish away climate change, or the EPA's Endangerment finding. Zeldin wants to unwind 31 different regulations covering everything from bedrock climate science to electric vehicles to clean water to coal-fired power plants to heavy duty trucks. Each of the separate 31 deregulations will require notice, public comment, a hearing date, a decision, and a lawsuit – especially if the agency ignores public comments.

That’s where you come in. This process will take at least a year, and we’re going to fight all 31 flavors of deregulatory hell like climate hawks, talon and claw, together. Sign here to get started.

The proposal to revoke the EPA's endangerment finding for climate change is wrong, illegal, and not supported by the science. Climate change is real, happening now, and has already killed Americans and caused billions in damage to lives and livelihoods. We, the undersigned, demand the EPA and Trump Administration drop this wrongheaded attempt to make America's environment more polluted.
