[SIGN ON] Congress: M-44 “cyanide bombs” threaten wildlife and don’t belong on public lands!
U.S. House of Representatives
Deadly cyanide is poisoning wildlife, pets and people on our nation’s public lands—and a federal agency is responsible. Fortunately, members of the U.S. House are considering “Canyon’s Law” (H.R. 4951), a bill to remove the wildlife poison sodium cyanide from US public lands, and we need your help to ensure that it becomes law.
M-44 sodium cyanide ejectors, or “cyanide bombs,” are poison traps set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Wildlife Services program. Although they are intended to kill wild animals, these indiscriminate devices—often paid for by American taxpayers—have killed many family pets and have even poisoned people.
Just a few years ago, an Idaho boy watched his beloved dog die after the pair encountered and were poisoned by an M-44 ejector. Since that heartbreaking day, he and his family have worked tirelessly to end the use of cyanide bombs on our shared landscapes, and the U.S. House is now considering a bill named in his honor to accomplish just that.
Please sign the International Fund for Animal Welfare's petition urging representatives to support Canyon’s Law (H.R. 4951), a bill to end taxpayer-funded use of M-44 cyanide bombs across our public lands!

I urge you to support Canyon’s Law (H.R. 4951), a bill to end taxpayer-funded use of M-44 cyanide bombs, which threaten animals and people alike, across our nation’s public lands.
M-44s – sodium cyanide ejectors – placed by USDA Wildlife Services have killed non-target wildlife, family pets and even people. Despite the availability of safer and more effective wildlife management tools, Wildlife Services continues to use these deadly, indiscriminate devices, ignoring glaring public safety risks and lack of scientific support.
Just a few years ago, an American family lost their beloved dog to a government-set cyanide bomb, which also poisoned their son—I ask that you take action to ensure that no other family has to endure such an experience.
It’s time to ban M-44s on federal lands. Please stand up for communities, pets and wildlife by supporting H.R. 4951.
