Sign the petition and urge congress to pass the G.I. Bill Restoration Act

Congress

House Minority Whip James Clyburn and Representative Seth Moulton introduced the G.I. Bill Restoration Act, which would repay the families of Black American veterans who fought in World War II but were denied G.I. Bill benefits.

The G.I. Bill Restoration Act would provide descendants of Black WWII veterans a transferable benefit that could be used to obtain housing, go to college or start a business.

The Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, better known as The G.I. Bill, was signed into law by President Franklin Roosevelt. The law provided returning servicemen with funds for education, government backing of loans, unemployment allowances and job-finding assistance.

Urge congress to pass the G.I. Bill Restoration Act and pay descendants and spouses of Black World War II veterans.

Many Black veterans after World War II were denied access to the G.I. Bill and its benefits. Please pass the G.I. Bill Restoration Act and pay the descendants and spouses of Black veterans who served with distinction on the frontlines of World War II.
