Iowa Congressman Steve King has gotten away with extremely racist rhetoric that gave voice to white supremacist hate groups for years. He recently asked why being a white nationalist was "offensive," which caused an outcry—but it certainly was not the first time.

King has coupled his rhetoric with sponsoring hostile anti-immigrant legislation that targets people of color, and met with foreign leaders who have known ties to neo-Nazi groups.

We can’t allow Republicans in Congress to claim plausible deniability about Steve King. They can't just kick him off committees, and pass a toothless "disapproval" resolution, and think the problem will go away. He is a white supremacist who continues to be a dangerous presence.

Democratic Congressman Bobby Rush is introducing a resolution to censure Steve King. That is the very least that Congress must do, and anything else is unacceptable.
