Sign the petition: Congress must expel Rep. Paul Gosar for his death threat against AOC

Congress

Republican Congressman Paul Gosar has tweeted an anime video that showed him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and brandishing swords at President Joe Biden.

Article 1, Section 5 of the U.S. Constitution gives Congress the power to "punish its members for disorderly behavior and with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."

A death threat certainly qualifies as "disorderly behavior," and Congress must expel him.

"Heinous attacks like these leveled at my sister AOC perpetuate and normalize violence against women—a reality far too common for [women of color,]” wrote Rep. Ayanna Pressley. “Speaker Pelosi, this white supremacist must be expelled immediately.”

We agree. Allowing far-right politicians to get away with such behavior would only normalize such action in the future. Congress must hold a vote to expel Rep. Paul Gosar.
