U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross ordered mass firings at NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) unless they issued a statement conforming with Donald Trump's fake hurricane claim that Alabama was in the path of Hurricane Dorian.

As the New York Times reported on September 9, Ross personally called acting NOAA administrator Neil Jacobs to say "political staff at NOAA would be fired" if they did not "fix" the agency's public contradictions of Trump's claims.

What followed was a truly baffling unsigned statement by NOAA that overruled what the National Weather Service had previously said on the matter, and what scientists studying the hurricane had concluded.

In other words, a Trump Cabinet Secretary ordered the weathermen to conform weather reports to the president's fragile ego. If Ross does not get impeached over this, what more will Trump and his corrupt administration do to abuse their power?

But this is not the only reason why Ross must be impeached. When he was confirmed as Commerce Secretary, Ross failed to disclose that he had investments in Navigator Holdings, which does close business with Vladimir Putin's family. This is a serious conflict of interest.

And when the U.S. Supreme Court shot down the U.S. citizenship question on the 2020 Census forms, they determined that Ross had lied to Congress about the reason why they wanted to add the question—calling it "contrived."

In one of the most corrupt administrations in U.S. history, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross must go. We cannot trust him to do his job without doing Donald Trump's dirty work and abusing his power. Congress must start impeachment proceedings immediately.

From failing to disclose his investments with Russia, to lying to Congress about the true reasons for adding a U.S. citizenship question on the 2020 Census form, and for threatening NOAA staff unless they conformed weather reports to Donald Trump's false claims about Hurricane Dorian, the evidence is crystal clear. Wilbur Ross must be impeached
