Sign the Petition: Release Eustaquio From Detention Now!

U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota

Earlier this month, as part of Operation Metro Surge, ICE took a beloved local workers’ rights leader. Eustaquio Orozco Verdusco, known to many as “Paco,” was on his way to work on January 9, 2026, when immigration officers began following him shortly after leaving his house in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

A habeas corpus petition for his release was filed within 24 hours of his arrest, yet shortly afterwards ICE moved him to the infamous immigration detention facility Camp East Montana, in El Paso, TX. He was denied video call visits with his lawyer multiple times despite his lawyer receiving scheduling confirmations from ICE. He was recently moved again to the Cibola County Correctional Center, a privately-owned prison by Core Civic, but continues to be missing from ICE’s Online Detainee Locator System. Eustaquio’s family only knows where he is due to the efforts of community members. To date, the Federal District Judge has continued to delay ordering his release.

Eustaquio has always been a humble and hard-working family man who cares for his community and believes in the American Dream. A life-long carpenter, with ranching and dairy farm experience, he has always provided for his family. He raised two children and always instilled in them the value of education, leading by example as an avid reader. Eustaquio always brags about how proud he is of the children he and his wife raised. His son, Gerardo Orozco Guzman, has been a dedicated public servant for the last five years as a Legal Assistant and Mediator at the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General, and last year was awarded the “Unsung Legal Hero” award by Minnesota Lawyer.

Eustaquio is a community organizer who devotes his time to advocating for worker’s rights, and has supported countless others in fighting back against unjust working conditions. He is a beloved friend, family member, and coworker, and and his family and community have all been traumatized by his continued and unjust detention. Please sign the petition now to demand his immediate release and stop his deportation.
