Sign the petition: Stop the Line 3 pipeline

Jaime Pinkham, Army Corps of Engineers'

The United Nations released a new report warning that if we fail to act urgently and boldly on climate change, there will be catastrophic global consequences. There is still a path forward but that path is narrowing by the day.

Despite this warning, the United States government and the state of Minnesota have continued to allow the Canadian corporation Enbridge to develop the new Line 3 pipeline that spans from Canada to Wisconsin.

We know the severity of our climate crisis, but we still have time to do something about it. We need your help to tell U.S. Army Corps leader Jaime Pinkham (who grants government authority) to permanently stop the development of the new Enbridge Line 3 Pipeline.

The impacts of the new pipeline on our environment are severe and inevitable. Line 3 will carry enough crude oil to produce the environmental impact of 50 coal power plants, or 38 million vehicles a year, and would contribute to climate change more than Minnesota’s entire economy.

We must take a stand for our Indigenous communities who are currently being harmed and face imminent danger if Enbridge is successful in constructing this new pipeline.

Line 3 threatens the survival and livelihood of the Anishinaabe People. The construction of line 3 violates the treaty rights of the Anishinaabe by endangering areas for hunting, fishing, wild rice and cultural resources. It has also brought an influx of temporary workers into Native communities that pose a danger to Native women, who already face higher rates of violence and trafficking. In February of this year, 2 Enbridge line workers were arrested in a sex trafficking sting.

Indigenous communities and water protectors are being targeted and brutalized with chemical weapons and rubber bullets for attempting to protect waterways. Police are using “less than lethal” force to enforce construction of this illegal pipeline and stand with Enbridge.

We need you to help tell Army Corps of Engineers' Jaime Pinkham to revoke Line 3’s water permit and take a stand for Indigenous rights, clean water, and the environment.

Jaime Pinkham, you must remain consistent in your defense of Native rights and use your position to revoke Line 3’s water permit. Order an Environmental Impact Statement that confronts the impact of crude oil on the environment, indigenous rights, and clean water. Stop the construction of Line 3 now.
