We are in a red-alert crisis. Donald Trump is hell-bent on inflicting revenge on anyone who assisted the impeachment process, and has ordered a purge of all government officials suspected of being disloyal.

The intelligence community has solid evidence that Russia plans to steal the 2020 election to help Trump (again), but Republicans in Congress are only mad that intelligence officials spoke up. And of course, Mitch McConnell refuses to move any election protection bills in the Senate.

But what is Mike Bloomberg doing? Spending ungodly amounts of money to buy the Democratic presidential nomination. Bloomberg's debate performance on February 19 proved he will not likely be successful. Even if he prevails, it will be a pyrrhic victory with Republicans in power from the U.S. Senate down to state legislatures.

It is time for him to stop wasting his billions on something unproductive.

Bloomberg needs to go after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and all the other Trump enablers in Congress who are letting Vladimir Putin steal our democracy. He needs to pressure Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House leadership to fight harder against this outrage.

We are in a perilous moment for our republic. Grassroots activists and groups are working tirelessly to elect strong community leaders and protect our elections. Mike Bloomberg could use his considerable fortune towards supporting their efforts—not pissing it away in a vanity presidential campaign. We cannot wait for November to defeat Trump, because our house is already on fire right now.
