Sign the petition: Urge Biden and Congress to pass HR 2590 to protect Palestinian children’s human rights
President Biden and Congress
This May, Israel launched one of its most deadly and destructive attacks on Palestinians living in Gaza and the West Bank, destroying homes, media office buildings, hospitals, and critical COVID-19 health infrastructure.
While this latest attack was especially brutal, Israel has occupied Palestinian land for decades and has instituted laws forcing Palestinians to live second-class lives marked with repression and militarized violence - which Human Rights Watch asserts meets the definition of apartheid.
One of Israel’s most repressive laws includes Israel’s use of military courts and prisons to unjustly prosecute and detain Palestinian children and families.
We cannot allow our U.S. taxpayer dollars to be used to harm Palestinian children and families.
Rep. Betty McCollum’s (DFL-MN-4) landmark bill, H.R. 2590, the Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Children and Families Living Under Israeli Military Occupation Act, seeks to protect the human rights of Palestinians living under occupation by restricting Israel’s use of taxpayer dollars. If passed, this historic legislation would bar Israel from using U.S. funds for the military detention of Palestinian children, forcible transfer, and further land annexation.
For far too long the U.S. government has enabled Israel’s violation of Palestinian human rights. Palestinians deserve to live life free of military occupation, restricted movement, and other forms of state and settler violence.
Sign if you agree: President Biden and Congress must protect Palestinian human rights by passing and signing into law HR 2590.
