Sign to tell Congress: Impeach Trump

To current and incoming members of Congress:

Donald Trump thinks he’s above the law.

But our country’s founders wanted democratic leaders, not kings -- so they set up important checks in order to hold U.S. presidents accountable. They agreed that presidents could be impeached if they engage in the following activities: treason, bribery, and “other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Many constitutional experts agree that Trump has committed multiple, well-documented impeachable offenses as a candidate and as President. These include abusing his pardon power, violating emoluments clauses, undermining the freedom of the press, discriminating against people based on their religion, and obstructing justice.

Every day he’s in office, Trump abuses his power in frightening ways and endangers people’s lives and the planet.

We can’t allow this. By not demanding impeachment, members of Congress -- including Democrats -- are normalizing and accepting his behavior, and paving the way for dangerous precedents. It’s our duty as Americans to defend our democracy.

So we need to demonstrate a groundswell of support for impeaching Trump. Public will to impeach the president is at an all-time high (close to when Nixon was about to resign at the end of the Watergate scandal). Polls show that around 50% of the American public (and 75% of Democrats) want Trump impeached.

If Democrats take back the House of Representatives this November, we need to be ready to start impeachment proceedings immediately.

Add your name to tell current members of Congress, as well as all incoming junior Congresspeople who’ll be in office in January 2019: Begin impeachment proceedings immediately.
