Open The Government has long been a champion of government transparency and accountability, and that’s why we’re calling on all presidential candidates to buck the trend started by this administration when it comes to hiding their financial and medical records from the voters.​

This isn’t a partisan issue. It’s about doing what is right. Candidates owe these records to the public so that we can make an informed decision.​

Democracy works best when the people are properly informed about the candidates they’re going to be choosing from, and so far we’ve seen a complete lack of transparency when it comes to things like tax records and complete medical histories. This is unacceptable. And Open The Government is going to do everything they can to re-introduce measures of transparency into this process.​
