Stand for Fair Representation in Alabama

Jefferson County Commission

Every Alabamian deserves a fair voice in their government.

But for decades, political boundaries in Jefferson County — and
across Alabama — have been drawn to dilute the power of Black
voters and underrepresented communities.

That is not democracy. That is not fair. And we refuse to accept it.

The historic McClure v. Jefferson County case has exposed what
many have long known: that the way our maps are drawn determines
who gets resources, who gets heard, and who gets to lead.

We are calling on the Jefferson County Commission and Alabama's
elected leaders to:

✊ Commit to fair, transparent redistricting processes
✊ Stop drawing maps that dilute Black political power
✊ Ensure every community, including the Black community, has equal representation
✊ Stop using unconstitutional maps, as the court in McClure v. Jefferson County Commission required.

Sign your name. Join the movement. Demand fair maps and real power
for every Alabamian.

We, the undersigned residents and supporters, demand that the
Jefferson County Commission take immediate action to ensure fair
representation for all Jefferson County communities.

A federal court has already ruled that Jefferson County's current
district maps violate the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States
Constitution by diluting the political power of Black voters. Yet
these unconstitutional maps remain in place.

This is unacceptable.

We demand that the Jefferson County Commission:

1. Publicly commit to full compliance with the federal court's
ruling in McClure v. Jefferson County

2. Cease all efforts to delay, appeal, or obstruct the drawing of
fair, constitutional district maps

3. Adopt a transparent redistricting process that includes
meaningful community input from underrepresented communities

4. Ensure that every Jefferson County resident — regardless of
race — has an equal and meaningful voice in their government

The voters of Jefferson County are watching. We will not be
silent, and we will not accept maps drawn to silence us.

Draw fair maps. Now.
