Stand Up For Teachers!

Senate Leadership

From navigating the pandemic to the fear of guns in schools to “Don’t Say Gay” laws, it’s been an extraordinarily challenging few years for teachers. Today kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week, and I think it’s clear to all of us that our public school teachers deserve some serious thanks.

But more than our appreciation, teachers deserve fair pay, strong benefits, equitable staffing, and smaller class sizes. That's why senators like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have introduced the Pay Teachers Act, which would ensure teachers are paid a minimum salary of $60,000 and a livable and competitive salary throughout their career.

Legislation like this is the least we can do for our public school teachers. Will you sign our petition asking Senate Leadership to bring the Pay Teachers Act to the floor for a vote?
