Or so they say.  

Last year San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick exercised his Constitutional rights, and peacefully and purposefully “took a knee” during the National Anthem to protest against the systemic racism and racial bias against Black and Brown people by law enforcement.  

When the New York Giants Kicker Josh Brown called himself "God" in a diary and admitted abusing his wife, the Giants ownership stood with him. When Greg Hardy physically assaulted his spouse, and threatened to kill her, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones named him Captain of the team. Colin Kaepernick kneeled during the National Anthem to speak out against violence against black people -- and for that principled protest, he has been black-balled from the league.

The Kaepernick situation follows a long tradition in a League that does not value black people, does not value women, and is willing to lie to their players about their health in order to continue making billions of dollars. The National Football League has an entrenched history of systemic racism, appeasement of abuse and violence, and exploitation of people of color - but now is the time to finally hold them accountable.

The NFL has employed murderers, rapists, spousal abusers and dopers.  But they are coordinating the blackballing of a brave, talented conscientious objector. Kaepernick’s unemployment is a warning to other Black and Brown players - you are expendable.  

The NFL doesn't understand the power of the people - they think they can discriminate against us and there will be no consequences. But let's prove them wrong! We need YOUR voices in this fight. Sign and share this Petition to let the NFL know you #StandWithKaepernick as well.
