Stand with Great Ormond Street and UCL Hospital School NEU Members

The Governing Body at Great Ormond Street and UCL Hospital School, Camden Council

Daniel Kebede with NEU Members Outside Great Ormond Street Hospital

We stand with Great Ormond Street and UCL Hospital School NEU Members

Since September 2024 NEU members at GOSH/UCLH hospital have been subjected to what the NEU believes to be a bullying, chaotic and unacceptable management approach. When our members have attempted to challenge these conditions, or raise the impact it is having on provision for vulnerable children, they appear to have been targeted and victimised.

Four NEU members - including one rep and three active NEU SLT members - have now been suspended. They've been given minimal information about the allegations against them. The allegations we do know relate concerningly to their NEU activity.

We stand with GOSH/UCLH NEU members in their fight against these unacceptable conditions.

We call on the Governing Body to:

  • Reinstate the four suspended members now.

  • End the culture of divide and rule, favouritism and trade union victimisation.

  • Ensure the school is run with consistency and care.

  • Hold a fully independent investigation into unacceptable management practices and ensure accountability.

If the Governing Body will not urgently act, we call on Camden Council to intervene and save GOSH/UCLH school from this unacceptable governance and unacceptable management approach which has negatively  impacted staff and pupils for too long.
