Stand with L.A. Times Guild journalists

The newsroom staff of the Los Angeles Times, represented by Media Guild of the West (NewsGuild-CWA 39213), has been bargaining a new union contract since September 2022. In that time, through several rounds of layoffs and buyouts, as well as attrition, the Guild's membership has been cut in half. Newsroom staffers have endured management stalling tactics at the bargaining table and even attempts to intimidate them from participating in the Guild.

In October, Guild members voted by a landslide 85% to authorize a strike if necessary to bring an end to talks. Please sign this petition to tell L.A. Times management that, if the journalists go on strike, you'll stand with them until they get a contract.

I’m a supporter of the L.A. Times because of the vibrant storytelling and accountability journalism it provides. None of that work would be possible without the newsroom staff. If the union goes on strike, I will stand with them. I will not cross the picket line by reading or engaging with L.A. Times content, or participating in interviews with The Times while a strike is ongoing. I urge you to do whatever it takes to come to a fair deal with your journalists.
