STOP ICE Expansion in Metro Detroit
The City of Southfield, Romulus, and other municipal bodies in the Metro Area
To strengthen the national movement against ICE, Workers and community members in the Metro Detroit area are organizing to resist ICE's presence in the area and its attempt to expand its operations by leasing office space in Southfield and buying an empty warehouse to convert into a detention center.

We Demand the Following:
*That Southfield and Romulus City Councils use every means and recourse available to them --- including public pressure --- to oppose ICE operations in their cities.
*That REDICO terminate the lease with OPLA, the legal service provider for ICE, at One Towne Square, or any of their buildings, and hold a public meeting to discuss the lease with OPLA.
*That skilled trades unions and workers refuse to work on the Romulus Detention Center at 7525 Cogswell St.
*That any oversight body tasked with granting permits to the construction of the detention center hold public meetings to listen to what the community has to say about the proposed detention center.
To make our demands strong, we call on churches and other faith institutions, union officials, and civil rights groups to join the fight against ICE and to actively mobilize its memberships.
And we call on the movement to Abolish ICE to fight for Full Rights for Immigrants, including the right to citizenship NOW!
