Stop Selling Toxic Bee Poison: Sign the Petition to Bayer-Monsanto’s CEO

Bayer-Monsanto CEO, Werner Baumann

1 in every 3 bites of food we eat depends on bees and other pollinators, but America’s bees are dying at an alarming rate.

The leading culprit? Highly toxic neonic pesticides produced by agrichemical giants like Bayer-Monsanto. Instead of protecting bees, the Trump administration is coddling these companies and have approved continued use of these bee-killing neonic pesticides. To protect our pollinators, and our food supplies, we need to stop bee-killing uses of neonics on multiple fronts.

We’re facing the Trump administration in court to restrict these toxic pesticides, but we also need to ratchet up the pressure on the agrichemical giants who make these products.

Sign NRDC's petition to the CEO of Bayer-Monsanto demanding they stop selling bee-killing neonic pesticides.

To Werner Baumann, Chief Executive Officer:

I am alarmed that Bayer-Monsanto has continued to ignore the global call to protect bees and other pollinators. Instead, you have continued to profit by selling neonics -- a class of toxic pesticides that can sicken and kill bees.

Bees are vital pollinators that are indispensable to our food supply -- in fact, 1 in every 3 bites of food we eat depends on bees and other pollinators . But our bees are dying at an alarming rate, and a leading culprit is a deluge of these poisonous pesticides.

And it's not just our bees that are harmed: Neonics are found on much of our fruits and vegetables and can't be washed off. Worse yet, emerging, federally-funded research suggests that exposure to neonics in the womb and by children could be linked to developmental defects, autism, heart deformations, memory loss, and muscle tremors.

The European Union and Canada are already reining in this assault on pollinators, the global food supply, and health. But as the largest maker of neonics, you have refused to act responsibly and remove this harmful product from the U.S. market.

So, I call on you to stop selling bee-killing neonics immediately. Otherwise, you will face a mounting public outcry against your company.
