Stop the Execution of Kendrick Simpson in Oklahoma
Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt
Kendrick Simpson is scheduled for execution in Oklahoma on February 12, 2026, for the 2006 murders of Glen Palmer and Anthony Jones.
Issues of concern include:
- The jury at Kendrick Simpson’s trial did not hear about Mr. Simpson’s documented Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) even though it directly led to the tragic crime for which he was sentenced to death.
- Kendrick Simpson suffers from many mitigating factors, most notably, surviving the devastating disaster of Hurricane Katrina and being the victim of a drive-by shooting. These factors directly led to his PTSD.
- During his time on death row, Kendrick Simpson has been on a journey of self-improvement: maintaining relationships with family and friends, earning his GED, taking college courses, and publishing a book of poetry, short stories, and essays.

We are writing to you regarding Kendrick Simpson, who is scheduled for execution in Oklahoma on February 12, 2026 for the 2006 murders of Glen Palmer and Anthony Jones.
Mr. Simpson is deeply regretful for his actions and is worthy of mercy because:
* The jury at Kendrick Simpson’s trial did not hear about Mr. Simpson’s documented Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) even though it directly led to the tragic crime for which he was sentenced to death.
* Kendrick Simpson suffers from many mitigating factors, most notably, surviving the devastating disaster of Hurricane Katrina and being the victim of a drive-by shooting. These factors directly led to his PTSD.
* During his time on death row, Kendrick Simpson has been on a journey of self-improvement: maintaining relationships with family and friends, earning his GED, taking college courses, and publishing a book of poetry, short stories, and essays.
We are also concerned that while the vast majority of states with capital punishment continue on a downward trend of executions, Oklahoma has continued to go against trend by carrying on an aggressive execution schedule - targeting the poor, the mentally ill and people of color.
We, the undersigned, ask that you do everything within your power to ensure this execution does not go forward, and to seek a path to clemency in the case.
Thank you for your time and attention to this urgent and serious matter.
