Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency

Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a death warrant for Vietnam veteran William Reeves, who was sentenced to death for the murder of Deputy Sheriff Richard Raczkoski in Indian River County. The execution is scheduled for October 20th at 6:00 PM.

Please sign this petition urging Governor DeSantis and the Florida Board of Executive Clemency to stop this execution and commute William Reeves sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

We stand together to urge you to stop the execution of William Reaves who was sentenced to death for the murder of Deputy Sheriff Richard Raczkoski in Indian River County.

The crime for which he was sentenced to death for was horrific and no plea to save Private Reaves's life should be considered outside of the suffering his family and loved ones have dealt with.

Still, executing Private Reaves says more about who we are. We do not need another execution to keep our societies safe or to hold Private Reaves accountable.

Please stop Private Reaves execution and commute his sentence to life in prison without the possibility of parole, Florida's only alternative sentence for first degree murder.
