Donald Trump just fired the Acting Attorney General after she defied him by refusing to have the Justice Department defend the unconstitutional #MuslimBan. Day by day, the Trump regime is increasingly threatening the very foundations of our democracy.

Our best chance to stop Trump’s #MuslimBan is to convince Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to bring normal business in Congress to a crawl by calling on Democrats to boycott all cabinet nomination hearings until Trump withdraws the unconstitutional #MuslimBan.

Senator Schumer can call on Democrats to refuse unanimous consent and obstruct Trump and the Republican Party from continuing down this un-American path.

As Americans, it is our duty to call upon our elected officials to do everything in their power to defend democracy and stop Trump and Bannon’s push toward authoritarianism. We cannot wait for the Trump-Bannon regime to destroy our democracy before we act. Trump’s firing of the acting Attorney General in order to uphold the #MuslimBan is one more reason to call on Minority Leader Schumer to utilize the constitutionally-mandated method to bring the Senate to a halt.

The American people have been mobilizing in record numbers at airports and in the streets to demonstrate that they are withdrawing their consent from the Trump regime. Now it is time for Senator Schumer to withdraw the Democrats' consent through the procedural tools at his disposal.
