Instead of uplifting working people, President Trump’s trade deals have prioritized the interests of greedy corporations.

Now Trump’s signature trade deal — which helps corporations destroy jobs and increase exploitation both at home and abroad — is up for review. We can’t let his rigged trade agreement be extended as written!

Please join us in submitting official public comments calling for the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement — also known as NAFTA 2.0 — to be renegotiated in the interests of working people, family farmers, and communities.

By prioritizing the interests of greedy corporations over working people, family farmers, and communities, the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) trade deal has failed to deliver the benefits that President Trump promised.

Among other serious problems, the President’s signature trade deal helps corporations ship good-paying jobs abroad to take advantage of ongoing labor rights violations, lax pollution controls, and abysmally low wages. As a result, his trade agreement is destroying livelihoods at home and increasing exploitation in Mexico.

To reverse the USMCA’s race-to-the-bottom for working people, strong new provisions to better enforce labor and environmental standards and raise wages throughout the region must be added. Dangerous giveaway provisions for Big Tech, Big Pharma, and other corporate special interests must also be removed.

Recognizing that corporations and billionaires have been the primary beneficiaries of President Trump’s policies to date, we oppose the scapegoating of immigrants and neighboring countries. A renegotiated deal should address root causes of economic displacement, and put the needs of workers, rural communities, and a healthy environment in all three countries ahead of the whims of corporate elites.
