Submit a comment to oppose Trump's new SNAP rule
Sonny Perdue, U.S. Department of Food and Agriculture
Just days before the holiday season, the Trump administration announced a new rule that would hurt people who benefit from SNAP.
There are millions of poor people, largely children, relying on food assistance to meet their basic needs every single day. Yet extremist politicians continue to attack the poorest among us. Through this policy violence, they are keeping people in poverty while ensuring the wealthy stay rich.

The Trump administration has released yet another cruel attack on the poor: A plan to gut the food assistance program millions of Americans rely on to feed themselves -- just days before the holidays.
There are millions of poor black, white, red, and brown people living in the United States. While many politicians will argue the nation’s poor aren’t working hard enough or can pull themselves out of poverty, they also refuse to raise wages, deny people access to care, and dismantle safety net programs like SNAP that are vital to their survival.
This proposed rule could affect millions of Americans. Once the rule is filed in the Federal Register, there is a mandatory 60-day comment period where you can make your voice heard by submitting a comment in opposition to these changes to SNAP. This is our chance to make sure that the Trump administration hears from a flood of concerned Americans about their immoral and corrupt rule.

Somebody has been hurting our people, and it’s gone on far too long. And we won’t be silent anymore.
