Mitch McConnell, Trump and Fox News’ cast of right-wing corporate stooges have tried to paint AOC as public enemy number 1 since she stormed onto the political stage - and it’s only gotten worse since she started talking about taxing the rich.

They’re attacking her because they’re scared. They know she’s setting the terms of the debate. Last year no one was talking about raising taxes on the rich to anywhere near 70%, but just months after she floated it as a new top marginal income tax rate, that number is now solidly in the mainstream.

They want to silence her. But if we’re going to reclaim America from the corrupt politicians and the billionaire donors that tell them what to say and how to vote, we need AOC’s message to take root in Washington. We need other Democrats in Congress, especially Democratic leadership, to follow her example instead of fighting her at every turn.

It’s time for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to prove that their party stands for normal working Americans and not just millionaires and billionaires. But they’re not going to break up with their donors until they’ve got no other choice – we need to make it clear that if they want to win, they need to start taxing the rich.
