Support Colorado General Assembly Legislative Aides Obtain RFID Badges
Colorado State House and Senate Executive Leadership and House and Senate Services
For more than two years, Legislative Aides in the Colorado General Assembly have fought to obtain RFID badge access in their workplace. After receiving support from all major parties, aides have continued to be met with stalling and no direct steps toward receiving RFID badges.
Legislative Aides deserve the same standard of access afforded to all other Colorado House and Senate staff, outside contractors, and state employees. Support Legislative Aides in their fight for badge access today!

We, the undersigned, stand with the Legislative Aides of the Colorado General Assembly in their continued effort to obtain RFID badges that allow them secure and consistent access to their workplace.
For more than two years, Legislative Aides in the Colorado General Assembly have worked with House and Senate Leadership, the Colorado State Patrol, and the Office of Governor Polis to obtain RFID badges. Despite broad, bipartisan support and ongoing conversations, aides have yet to see meaningful action or a clear path forward. Currently, aides must rely on plastic, color-coded identification badges that neither ensure proper access nor reflect the professionalism of their roles.
It is vital that Legislative Aides receive RFID badges before the start of the 2026 Legislative Session, both to professionalize their position within the Capitol and to ensure their safety and security at work.
Implementing would simply involve integrating Legislative Aides into the existing RFID system at the standard one-time cost of $10 per aide; replacing current aesthetic badges with fully functional RFID credentials. Thus improving accessibility by granting aides use of staff-designated accessible entrances, and ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent entry into all Capitol building complexes.
Legislative Aides deserve the same standard of access afforded to all other Colorado House and Senate staff, outside contractors, and state employees.
