Flexibility too often comes at the expense of students when faculty are forced to spend their time searching for work for the next semester. More security and stability would afford a better working and teaching environment for faculty at this world class institution. We the contingent faculty at SAIC are united in calling on the administration to create multi-year contract provisions which include:

  • 3 year contracts for Adjuncts

  • 2 year contracts for Lecturers

  • Course guarantees during the life of multi-year contracts

  • Clear renewal and non-renewal policies and processes
