STATEMENT OF SUPPORT

As a proud supporter of recovery, I proudly endorse the Florida​ Recovery Advocacy Project's Platform.

The platform was created after listening to people in Recovery of many pathways, family members, and allies that shared their experiences and barriers they are facing in communities all across Florida​.

Florida RAP​ supports equal recovery access for all.

People in recovery have value and can be a resource to decision makers all across the state.

The Florida Recovery Advocacy Project advocates for:

Access to Resources:
-On demand publicly funded services for detox, treatment, and ongoing wrap-around recovery services.
-Provide access to affordable, safe & ethical, standards-driven recovery housing.
-Invest in equitable recovery access for all communities by expanding grassroots
recovery community organization to every county in Florida
-Remove barriers to peer recovery & Family Support Services.

Social Justice:
-Wrap around services for individuals reentering the community.
-Ensure Civil Rights Protections for those with Substance Use Disorders.
-Establish automatic record expungement and reentry programs.
-Promote employment with inclusive, recovery-friendly workplaces.

Education:
-Humanize substance use disorders with non-stigmatizing person-centric language.
-Educate the community on the benefits of Harm Reduction Services.
-Support educating the public and policy makers that recovery economic and community value.

Today, I am joining others in the Recovery Community to have my voice heard and I STAND UP for RECOVERY by endorsing this support statement around the 2021 Florida Platform.
