Have Two Minutes? Help Protect Americans From Deepfakes and AI Exploitation
One year ago, the TAKE IT DOWN Act was signed into law. Now, Americans have a way to remove deepfake pornography and non-consensual intimate images of themselves from the internet.
Unfortunately, more aspects of AI exploitation need to be addressed. Deepfakes can ruin ALL lives. It doesn’t matter if you’re a public figure or a high school student being exploited by predators on the internet.
To ensure everyone is fully protected from AI deepfakes, lawmakers need to support the NO FAKES Act which gives all Americans a right to control their own likeness and voice.
The passage of the NO FAKES Act would put the necessary protections in place to ensure people have the power to say “Not my face. Not my voice.”

I’m writing to express my support for the NO FAKES Act. And to ask that you support it as well.
We must ensure changes in the technological landscape serve to improve individuals’ quality of life rather than threaten people’s livelihoods and well-being.
Right now, unauthorized replicas are being used for scams, exploitation, false endorsements and the replacement of human performance itself. Every day that passes without effective notice and takedown remedies puts victims, performers, creators and consumers at risk and in danger.
Congress must build on the foundation started by the TAKE IT DOWN Act by passing the NO FAKES Act which expands the protections against nonconsensual intimate images to include instances of fraud, commercial misappropriation and performance replacement. Under the NO FAKES ACT Act, online services receiving qualifying notice must remove or disable access to unauthorized digital replicas as soon as technically and practically feasible, address matching re-uploads and notify right holders and uploaders.
This is achievable thanks to the advancement of solutions for voice and likeness protection, including successful nonconsensual intimate images detection and takedown systems which can be expanded to address instances of fraud, false endorsement, commercial misappropriation and unauthorized performance replacement.
This is a much-needed bill that would protect everyone.
