Support the No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act (H.R.5475)
Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith and Ranking Member Richard Neal
Union rail workers were not included in the "no tax on overtime" provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill. To gain the same relief enjoyed by other American workers, we need to ensure our lawmakers in Washington, DC hear our collective voice. This petition drive is part of that effort, a way for the leaders of the House Ways and Means Committee to hear from rail Teamsters like you about why this is important, why this matters.
Take time to sign this petition and discuss other ways to support this effort with your fellow rail Teamsters. Major legislative work like this requires we all take part, that we all join the action. As you stay engaged, your union will keep you updated on this effort and other ways we can sustain our momentum and continue the fight. Sign the petition today!

Dear Chairman Smith and Ranking Member Neal:
I am writing to you as a railroad worker covered under the Railway Labor Act (RLA). I am reaching out today to request your support for moving forward H.R. 5475, the No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act, which would expand the overtime tax relief enacted under Sec. 110102 of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) to cover rail workers such as myself and other RLA covered workers.
The nation’s railroaders work long hours under extreme conditions, often at personal risk to ourselves and our families. The nature of our work frequently requires personal sacrifices due to safety, regulatory compliance, and operational necessity. While I and my colleagues are deeply supportive of the “No Taxes on Overtime” policy, we require further Congressional action to expand this provision in order for us to also receive the benefit, as RLA workers we do not received Fair Labor Standards Act defined overtime.
Therefore, I urge you to expand the OBBA tax relief provision for overtime by supporting and ultimately enacting H.R. 5475, so that tax relief for overtime explicitly includes RLA-covered employees, including rail workers, under the overtime tax exemption. Addressing this issue promptly would demonstrate fairness, respect for essential workers, and a commitment to ensuring that all working Americans benefit from this tax relief provision and keep more of their hard-earned money.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response and to seeing decisive action taken on behalf of RLA workers, including myself.
