SIGN THE PETITION: STAND UP FOR WORKERS' RIGHTS: STOP UNION BUSTING IN MONONGALIA COUNTY!

Despite workers expressing their support for joining the UMWA, the Commission Office is obstructing the unionization process. Mon County states they will allow their employees to vote but they have said they disagree with having an “intervening third party” representing their employees. So, our question is…

WILL THEY RESPECT THE PROCESS?

and

WILL THEY RESPECT THE RESULT?

Dear Monongalia County Commission Office,

We would like to express our deep concern regarding the actions of the Monongalia County Commission Office. Despite workers expressing their support for joining the UMWA, the Commission Office is obstructing the unionization process. You stated that you will allow your employees to vote but you have also said that you disagree with having an “intervening third party” representing your employees. So, our question is… "WILL YOU RESPECT THE PROCESS?" and "WILL YOU RESPECT THE RESULT?"

The fundamental rights of workers must be respected and upheld. The right to organize and join a union is protected under federal law and it is disheartening to see these rights being undermined. The employees have voiced their desire to unionize, and it is their legal and moral right to do so, without facing obstruction or intimidation.

We, the undersigned, demand that the Monongalia County Commission Office cease its efforts to impede the unionization process immediately. The workers have made their choice clear and it is your duty to honor and facilitate their decision. We will not idly stand by and watch as the rights of these workers are thwarted. It is time to stop union-busting tactics and allow the employees to exercise their right to hold a fair and free election to unionize.

We trust that the Monongalia County Commission Office will reconsider its stance and take the necessary steps to support and respect the workers' rights.
