Take Back AI from Big Tech

Take Back AI from Big Tech

If you had a machine that could solve anything — what would you use it for?

To help people with daily challenges?
To cure disease? End poverty? Feed families? Fix schools?

Or to maximize profit, trap attention, and drive stock prices through the roof — without limit or guardrails?

That choice has already been made — by a handful of unelected CEOs.
And it was the wrong one.

Superhuman AI is here.

The industry calls it AGI or ASI.
What matters is: it’s already smarter than any human.
Almost free to run. Nearly infinitely scalable.
And it's getting faster, smarter, and more powerful every week.

It can solve anything.
But it’s not being used to help people.

It’s being used to make you more addicted.
To drive you into subscriptions, walled ecosystems, infinite scroll, and consumption.
To eliminate every human touchpoint — and replace it with policy bots.

And now? It’s being used to take your job.

Engineers I worked with — who helped build these systems — were just laid off.
Replaced by the very AI they helped create.

And in the U.S., we don’t even have basic income. Or universal healthcare.
There’s no safety net. No plan. Just more CEO bonuses, shareholder returns, and an AI arms race.

That’s not innovation.
That’s extraction.
And in this context? It’s fucking evil.

No one to talk to. No negotiation. No context.
Just systems built to optimize — not understand. Not care. Not help.

This is the real AI risk.

Not Skynet. Not killer robots.
But a world where every system is pointed at profit — and none are built for people. For good.

A world where all the power flows to corporations — which were already too powerful, and have no metrics for care, dignity, human thriving, national or global wellbeing, or environmental health.

Capitalism, as it exists, cannot hold this.
It wasn’t designed for infinite synthetic intelligence — or systems that run themselves with the only goal of profit.
It just extracts more — faster — until there’s nothing left.

And now it’s scaling. Globally. With no brakes.

The proof?

There is not a single tool built with regular people in mind.
Nothing that helps with food, housing, health, debt, or daily life.

I built a prototype of what should exist — You.One.
In 3 days. With a husky and a laptop.
And it’s already helping regular people more than anything from the $15 trillion U.S. tech industry.

ChatGPT? It’s not built for the average person.
“Ask me anything” is a trick question. A paralyzing trap.
These tools weren’t built for clarity — they were built for highly educated people: engineers, lawyers, doctors.

Big Tech and AI Labs pointed godlike tools inward.
Microsoft, Alphabet (Google), Amazon, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Apple.
At their own ops. Their own systems. Their own profits.
They automated support. Eliminated human contact.
Scaled addiction, surveillance, and manipulation — by design.
And showed their Fortune 500 CEO friends how to do the same.

Not one of them built something useful for a single mom in Toledo.
Or a struggling student in Tucson.
Or your dad.

That’s not a mistake. That’s betrayal.
They betrayed humanity.
One of the greatest in history. Of our trust. Our potential. Our future.

And now?
The direction is locking in.
These corporations are growing to infinity — with no cap, and no alignment with humanity.

We likely have 3–6 months before this trajectory becomes irreversible.
It’s a runaway train.

We can’t stop it.
But we can turn the wheel.

The People’s Mandate — Immediate Actions

  1. Require all U.S. corporations to prove they prioritize human and planetary care over profit.
Codified in law. Audited independently. Enforced with consequences.
This is the crucial "Capitalism 2.0" for the AI era.
  2. Guarantee a new social floor — including basic income, housing, and healthcare — because AI + robots will replace all jobs within 10 years
  3. Fully nationalize Big Tech and AI corporations — not just the tools, but the entities themselves
  4. Dismantle runaway corporate power — cap market caps; no more infinite growth, no more shell games
  5. Redirect AI investment toward food, housing, health, education, planetary care, and tools that directly help and empower regular people
  6. Ban “engagement” maximization and other outright harmful uses of AI
  7. Guarantee civic oversight of all deployed AI

Capitalism 1.0 is over.
It was never designed for a world of infinite intelligence.
If we don’t upgrade it now, it ends in extinction — or enslavement.

This is not a technical question.
This is a moral one.

Who’s Behind This?

I’m Joshua Segeren.
I led AI products at Microsoft — including the first AI systems in Microsoft 365, built for accessibility and human usability.
I helped build what’s now used by tens of millions of people, every day.

But once I saw the misalignment clearly — I stepped out.

I've built multiple independent AI-native businesses since leaving Microsoft in late 2021.

I’m now building one part of the correction: You.One — a system that actually helps regular people.
No logins. No prompts. No bullshit.
Just: How can I help?
And clear, step-by-step guidance for your actual life.

What AI should’ve been all along.
Built in 3 days. No logins. No prompts. Just help.
This is You.One.

We are demanding immediate structural action to redirect the trajectory of AI — before it becomes ungovernable.

Superhuman AI is already here. But instead of being used to solve real human problems — food, housing, healthcare, education, environmental survival — it’s being used to maximize profit, trap attention, and replace labor. With no safety net. No oversight. And no consent.

This is not a technical failure. It is a moral one.

The current direction is a runaway train:
AI systems are being deployed at planetary scale with no democratic input, no alignment with human well-being, and no structural constraints on the corporations scaling them.

If this trajectory continues, it ends in collapse — not innovation.

We call on you to immediately:

1. Require all U.S. corporations to prove they prioritize human and planetary care over profit.
This must be codified in law, audited independently, and enforced with real consequences.
As AI becomes core infrastructure — powering every sector and every business — this is the foundation of a survivable economy and liveable world.
2. Guarantee a new social floor — including basic income, housing, and healthcare — because AI and automation are replacing all jobs
3. Fully nationalize Big Tech and AI corporations — not just the tools, but the entities themselves
4. Cap corporate power — no more infinite growth, no more shell games
5. Redirect AI investment toward food, housing, health, education, planetary care, and tools that directly help and empower regular people
6. Ban “engagement” maximization and other harmful uses of AI
7. Guarantee civic oversight of all deployed AI

This is not about slowing down progress.
It’s about pointing it in the right direction — before it locks in for good.

We are not asking politely.
This is a correction. A reckoning. And a global demand.

The people own AI.
You work for them.

Act like it.
