Since October 2023, Israel's assault and siege on the occupied Gaza Strip has killed an unconfirmed number of Palestinians—with an estimated death toll of anywhere from 62,000 to over 400,000 people. UN expert Francesca Albanese’s report in July details the role of corporate entities in not only sustaining—but also accelerating—Israel’s illegal occupation and ongoing genocide in Gaza. This has been made clear in the most recent example of aid distribution under the Israel- and US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) at sites run by private security contractors—including UG Solutions of Davidson, NC.
Israel established its aid distribution system under the GHF after it implemented a total siege on Gaza in March 2024, denying the entry of any aid, including that delivered by UN agencies like UNRWA. The GHF system has triggered international outrage because it not only fails to provide Palestinians with adequate access to food—thus propagating famine conditions—but also, as explained by Doctors Without Borders in their August report, it enables “orchestrated killing” of people seeking aid at or near these sites.
Overall, the death toll that is climbing in Gaza is a direct result of: 1) arms supplied to Israel—69% of which are from the US, 2) the obstruction of lifesaving aid from UN agencies and international NGO partners since March 2, and 3) the militarization of aid services under private security contractors like UG Solutions.
We demand that our representatives in Congress bring an end to all US economic support for and involvement in Israel’s repeated systematic human rights violations and abuses of people in occupied Palestine. It is time that the US government extricate itself from complicity in Israel's genocidal campaign and more strictly hold corporate entities complicit in human rights violations and international crimes to account.

I'm writing demand that you and your office commit to bringing an end to all US economic support for and involvement in Israel's repeated systematic human rights violations and abuses of people in occupied Palestine. It is time that the US government extricate itself from complicity in Israel’s genocidal campaign and more strictly hold corporate entities complicit in human rights violations and international crimes to account.
I demand that you use your position as a member of Congress to fully ensure that the US government abides by its duties and responsibilities to prevent and address human rights abuses, including those involving US-based corporate entities, in accordance with US and international laws and frameworks (such as the War Crimes Act, the Geneva Conventions, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights) by:
1. Supporting the Block the Bombs Act introduced by your colleagues in the Progressive Caucus, and push for a suspension of security assistance and an arms embargo on Israel in line with Section 620I of the Foreign Assistance Act and international law, respectively;
2. Taking action to end Israel’s blockade and ensure a complete restoration of unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza, including by supporting H.R.2411 - UNRWA Funding Emergency Restoration Act of 2025;
3. Taking steps to end State Department funding of GHF while also lending your strength to investigations that hold US-based businesses like UG Solutions—a key actor operating out of your district—to account for their involvement in human rights violations in the occupied Gaza Strip.
