Tell Art+Feminism NO NEW ANTI-WORKER CASE LAW! Sign the petition

After several months of protected activity, Art+Feminism Workers United requested voluntary recognition as an independent labor union from Art+Feminism in September 2025. Art+Feminism declined, but Executive Director Kira Wisniewski stated that she would recognize our union if we went through the National Labor Review Board. We filed our NLRB election petition, and Kira responded by challenging the jurisdiction of the NLRB.

In transforming our NLRB hearing from a showing of union support to a jurisdictional challenge, Art+Feminism has made our fight about all US workers, especially those in the arts, culture, and nonprofit sectors. In a space where our labor is already devalued, and in a time where we expect more anti-worker challenges to the National Labor Relations Act, we have to redirect Art+Feminism back to its mission and values.

A+F has shown us just how far they are willing to go. In the past few months, the organization has gotten rid of all W-2 employees except Kira, lost two board members, and eliminated four contract positions. We need your help in pressuring Art+Feminism to withdraw their NLRB challenge; the risk of creating anti-worker case law under the Trump administration is too great.

We urge you to sign this petition and, if you're an A+F organizer or collaborator, contact A+F’s leadership directly:

I stand in solidarity with Art+Feminism Workers United (AFWU) and workers throughout the nonprofit, arts, and cultural sectors in the United States. I am asking Art+Feminism to:

1. Withdraw your challenge to the AFWU union petition at the NLRB. This is urgent for all nonprofit workers. If Art+Feminism’s challenge is successful it could negatively impact US workers through case law.

2. Recognize Art+Feminism Workers United as the employee union of Art+Feminism. A labor union is in line with the organization’s values and a benefit to the larger Wikimedia Movement.
