Tell Congress: Big corporations need to pay their fair share!

U.S. Congress

Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are busy writing a tax plan for the country that will hand out massive tax breaks to millionaires, billionaires and wealthy corporations -- at our expense.

They will pay for this scheme to help their rich family members and friends by making deep cuts to Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, public education and many other critical public services that our communities depend on.

The chief architect of the Senate tax giveaway is Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee. He’s just announced that he’s requesting input “from experts and stakeholders” on how best to reform the tax system. And we only have until July 17th to respond. Senator Hatch wants to hear from the army of high-priced corporate lobbyists roaming the halls of Congress representing Wall Street banks and giant corporations, like Big Oil and Big Pharma.

They may be influential, but our voices are louder when we speak up together. Senator Hatch needs to hear from us.

Let’s send Orrin Hatch and Senate leaders a big surprise. Sign the petition today to overwhelm the Washington, D.C. corporate tax lobbyists -- and demand a tax system and an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few.

Reject President Trump and Congressional Republicans’ plan to hand out massive tax breaks at my and my community’s expense. As my elected official, I am urging you to put the needs of your constituents first. We need access to care and critical public services. Don’t sacrifice our Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare and other public services in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy. We need corporations to pay their fair share. Not dig deeper into our short pockets to give them even more.
