Tell CSUF IT to Stop Supporting Genocide and Drop Duo Mobile!
CSUF Division of Information Technology, AVP Jay Lin
CSUF pays Cisco for Duo Mobile, which in turn supports and finances the genocide in Palestine. CSUF IT has a moral and legal obligation to stop supporting Cisco until Cisco stops supporting the genocide.

We call on you today to stop using Duo Mobile, the University's two-factor authentication system provided by Cisco.
Duo Mobile is a Cisco product, and Cisco has been materially supporting [4] the ongoing genocide in Palestine by providing technological services to the Israeli military and government. This has included AI-automated apartheid using Cisco technology [2] and illegal surveillance of Palestinian civilians [3].
Cisco's support is contrary to international law [1] and rulings of the International Court of Justice, and financially supporting a company like Cisco is in direct contradiction with our University's values.
We call on CSUF IT to immediately drop Duo Mobile and switch to a more generic TOTP implementation. Duo Mobile is already somewhat inconvenient for students, as it doesn't allow them to choose their TOTP provider; having greater flexibility by using an open TOTP standard and allowing students to choose a provider (such as Authy, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Bitwarden, or one of the hundreds of open-source solutions) is simply the best route forward for all.
