Tell EdSource: Finalize the contract now!
EdSource CEO Deborah Clark and the EdSource Board of Directors
The work of EdSource journalists has never been more crucial, given the continuous threats to democracy and the unprecedented challenges facing the public education system. Our award-winning stories, investigations, data analysis, podcasts, roundtables and documentaries illuminate the toughest education issues and inform students, families and education decision-makers about California schools.
Over a year ago, we formed our union to ensure the journalists who make this work possible are directly influencing the conditions under which that work gets done. Our team has worked diligently on proposals to strengthen our editorial integrity, address pay inequities, ensure that generative artificial intelligence is not deployed in a way that affects the quality of our journalism, and so much more.
But progress has been slow. That’s why we created this Valentine’s Day card. We’re demanding EdSource commit to supporting its workers with the same devotion we put into producing outstanding journalism.
We’re asking our supporters to:
Sign the Valentine urging EdSource management to finalize our contract
Share it with your networks
Post it on social media
In solidarity,
EdSource News Guild
Disclaimer: The journalists of EdSource take our editorial independence very seriously. We welcome all who support our work to sign this valentine, but wish to make clear that participation in this letter to management does not influence our coverage in any way.
