Tell FERC - Reject the Mountain Valley Pipeline Expansion

Local organizing stopped a major fossil-fuel project in Virginia — for now. Help make sure federal regulators do not revive it.

Mountain Valley Pipeline wants to expand its interstate gas system through a proposal called MVP Boost. The project includes a massive new compressor station near homes, farms, and an active railroad in Elliston, Virginia.

Local residents have been organizing against it, and this summer, state regulators listened. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality announced they are pausing review of MVP’s state application.

But the broader pipeline expansion is still under consideration by federal regulators. Communities should not have polluting fossil-fuel infrastructure forced on them—especially when local approval and state permitting remain unresolved.

1.) Deny Mountain Valley Pipeline's application.
2.) Require the company to resubmit their application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity.

Virginia residents, local government and state agencies all raise serious concerns with MVP’s Boost proposal. This proposal should be denied.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is no longer reviewing MVP’s application for an air pollution permit. Montgomery County, Virginia has expressed concern with the siting of the Elliston compressor station and DEQ does not consider MVP to have received full local approval. If MVP insists on seeking federal permits under these conditions, they should be required to resubmit their application to reflect these developments.
