Tell Law360 That You Want To Read News Produced By Humans, Not AI

LexisNexis Vice President and General Manager Legal News Teresa Harmon

Law360’s parent company LexisNexis recently informed the newsroom that our journalists will be required to use an untested, faulty and unhelpful AI tool developed by the company. This tool includes a “bias checker” that fails to recognize many of the common terms we use as part of our coverage and frequently incorrectly flags quotes from sources or court filings as “biased.” This tool will not only slow down our long-established and trusted news-gathering process, but it threatens to bring with it a host of ethical concerns that the company has failed to address or cannot yet anticipate.

Join us in demanding that the use of artificial intelligence tools, particularly new and evolving ones, remains voluntary for our journalists.

I stand in solidarity with Law360’s unionized journalists fighting the corporate mandate requiring them to use faulty and unproven artificial intelligence tools as part of the reporting and editing process. I want my news vetted and delivered by human journalists — not AI.
