Tell Lori Lightfoot: Support progressive revenue to address homelessness and our budget!

Mayor Lori Lightfoot

It’s clear that our city needs to do a lot more to support people experiencing homelessness. One solution is a progressive tax on sales of high-end real estate to fund more support for homeless services. Mayor Lightfoot campaigned on this idea, but now she only wants to use that money to fill Chicago's budget deficit. Progressive representatives in Springfield have proposed a modified tax that would generate plenty of revenue to both address the deficit and fund homelessness services. We need to get Mayor Lightfoot on board with the idea, but that will only happen if there's enough public pressure. Add your name if you agree: we need progressive revenue to support people experiencing homelessness and address our budget deficit. Read more about this progressive proposal.

Mayor Lightfoot,

We support a tax on luxury real estate transactions that fund both homelessness services and addresses Chicago's budget deficit. There's enough money to fund our priorities, but only if we're bold. We urge you to support this important measure to address the rising homelessness crisis in our city.
