Tell LRSD: Conduct a Full Title IX Review & Fix Inequities NOW

Little Rock School District Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright, administrators, and members of the Board of Education

Girls who represent Little Rock Central High put in the same time and heart as boys, but they do not always receive the same facilities, resources, access, or support.

Central’s softball players brought these disparities into public view. Now, athletes from other girls’ sports are raising concerns about their own experiences. It's time for LRSD leaders to act.

LRSD must examine how opportunities and resources are provided across its athletic programs. District leaders need to correct current inequities and publish a Title IX compliance plan complete with a project manager, funding streams, a timeline, and measurable deliverables.

It's 2026, and out girls should not have to keep proving to educators that they deserve equal treatment. Equal means equal.

I am joining Central High student-athletes, families, alumni, and community members in calling for comprehensive Title IX compliance across Little Rock School District athletics.

The disparities identified by LRCH girls’ teams require more than an isolated, temporary solution, and our female students athletes deserves more than open-ended discussions in perpetuity.

As a concerned citizen, I am asking LRSD to:

* Conduct a comprehensive and transparent Title IX review of its athletic programs
* Correct immediate inequities affecting current student athletes
* Publish a written compliance plan identifying necessary improvements, funding, responsible officials, and measurable deadlines
* Include players, families, and coaches in evaluating conditions and proposed solutions
* Provide regular public progress reports until every required correction is complete

Central’s students should not have to organize for the equal treatment federal law already promises them.

Please listen to these athletes act with the urgency they deserve. Equal must mean equal for every student and every team.
