Tell MA lawmakers: no online ID checks!
MA Lawmakers
Massachusetts lawmakers, led by Governor Maura Healey, are barreling
toward passing some of the most invasive and unworkable online ID check
mandates in the country.
House Bill 5366 and Healey’s “complementary” proposal
would mandate everyone in the state verify their age to post online,
forcing all of us to hand over our government IDs or biometric info to
untrustworthy Big Tech companies and third party “ID check” vendors. These
mandates won’t keep kids safe. They let Big Tech off the hook while
putting all of us at risk. There’s still time to stop this. Take action now to
stop online ID checks in Massachusetts.

Social media bans and age gating laws won't make kids in Massachusetts safer. In fact, they make us all less safe by requiring we submit our sensitive data to Big Tech companies in order to post online. I oppose any legislation that would require people to upload their government IDs or scan their faces to use the Internet, and I urge you to pass comprehensive data privacy protections instead.
