Milam & Co. Painting is one of the largest commercial painting companies in the Houston area.
The company performs work for some of Houston's most prominent owners and developers, as well as public entities, such as the City of Houston, Aldine Independent School District, and Houston Independent School District. Milam & Co. Painting reaps the profits of being a sizable painting contractor in the Houston area, but the workers that perform the work claim they are underpaid and overworked.
Milam workers have reported serious issues at their worksites. For example, on brutally hot days employees have claimed that they must labor without adequate drinking water and appropriate rest breaks. Workers claim they are put under extreme pressure to produce and are not given adequate protective equipment or safety training.
Currently, Milam & Co. Painting is under investigation by the Federal Department of Labor for alleged FLSA violations, which were sparked by a complaint by workers.
We urge you to sign the petition demanding that Anthony Milam, President of Milam & Co. Painting, addresses the issues that workers have brought to our attention.
