Calls for President Biden to pardon Donald Trump are gaining traction, but doing so would be one of the most dangerous and irresponsible decisions of Biden’s presidency.

Pardoning Trump would send a clear message: powerful individuals can act with impunity, no matter how serious their crimes. Worse, it would embolden Trump to commit more abuses in his second term, knowing there would be no consequences for his actions.

We call on President Biden to reject any calls to pardon Donald Trump. Accountability is essential to preserving the integrity of our democracy and ensuring that elected officials are held to a high standard.

Some politicians, like Senator Joe Manchin and Representative James Clyburn, have floated the idea of a pardon as a way to “move forward.” But there is no moving forward without accountability.

Trump’s long history of defying the law—from obstructing justice and inciting insurrection to mishandling classified documents—demands a reckoning, not forgiveness. Failing to hold him accountable would not heal the nation but further erode trust in the rule of law.

Sign this petition to send a clear message to President Biden: Don’t undermine justice and democracy by pardoning Donald Trump.
