Tell Rep. Steve Scalise We Need to Talk About White Nationalism and Antisemitism in the GOP

Representative Steve Scalise

Our political system is undergoing a crisis: white nationalism and antisemitism are growing forces within the Republican party, and it's causing terrifying violence in our communities.

The rhetoric of white nationalists who commit massacres in Jewish spaces is fueled by Republicans in congress who claim Jews control leftist popular movements, and by Trump's comments that Jews are 'disloyal' and will vote for him to protect their wealth.

When we've asked Steve Scalise to condemn antisemitic remarks by President Trump, he's deflected with references to his unconditional support for Israel. But we are American Jews, and we are endangered by the rise of white nationalism and antisemitism in this country.

We’re not facing this alone. Our immigrant, Muslim, LGBTQ, black, Latinx and so many other siblings are also facing terrifying violence from white nationalists. We must do everything we can to protect all of our people — none of us are free until all of us are free.

We need leaders in the Republican party to take accountability for the violent hatred growing within their ranks. That's why we're calling on Congressman Steve Scalise, the House minority whip and third most powerful Republican in Congress, to meet with his constituents and discuss how we can uproot the antisemitism and white nationalism within the Republican party.

As our elected official, Steve Scalise has a duty to listen to his constituents and prioritize dismantling white nationalism and antisemitism from spreading in this country.

Sign our petition demanding that Steve Scalise have an open town hall with his constituents to discuss the growing white nationalism and antisemitism within the Republican party by Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 20th. We hope Rep. Scalise responds before then, because people are dying.
